Meet Barisa Bruckman
Born and raised in Highland Park, Barisa has always been deeply connected to her community, a bond that fuels her dedication to public service. Appointed as a City Councilmember in June 2024, Barisa leverages her extensive experience in Public Policy and Administration to drive meaningful change and foster a thriving local economy. Along with her husband, Joel, she chose to raise their family in the Braeside neighborhood, drawn by the city’s safety, diversity, beauty, and strong sense of community. Barisa is committed to fostering business development, believing that a vibrant local economy is key to Highland Park’s future success. Her leadership emphasizes open dialogue, transparency, fiscal responsibility, environmental sustainability, and diversity. With a focus on uniting the community and supporting local businesses, Barisa envisions a Highland Park where every resident and entrepreneur has the opportunity to flourish.
